my personal superlative tree

this gorgeous eucalyptus is superlative in that it is my favorite tree. she lives on the far southern end of stanford’s campus near some adorable, exceptionally dated graduate student housing. i used to park under her every day and i was always in awe walking under her branches. the whole year i lived nearby she was in a shedding phase and it was amazing to see her trunk slowly peel away to reveal the baby skin bark underneath. it’s hard to get a true sense of the size of the trunk from this picture but just know that she’s positively massive.
