Owning a Parrot???

My family is in many ways soooo vanilla but sometimes I think about how I grew up with a pet parrot, Newton, which feels so deeply unlike my parents and anyone making a normal choice about an animal with whom to share your home. Made for great childhood pics though and of course we taught it to relentlessly compliment my grandmothers (“Pretty Grammy! Pretty Grammy!”)
