build a real fire

If you have the space/safe conditions for it, exercise your real fire building skills! I love those cool logs that burn solo once you light their paper wrapping or easy breezy fire starters that get things going with no effort, but there’s special magic in collecting kindling from the yard and experimenting with pyramid vs log cabin building schemes. Doing it the old fashioned way without shortcuts gives it that real campground feel and, imo, makes for the best s’mores 🌙
